Our Projects

Mid North Coast Flood Recovery Operations

In response to severe flooding, Aus Civil and Safety Barriers supported the NSW Department of Primary Industries with bulk waste removal and road restoration. By deploying high-capacity haulage, securing alternate disposal sites and recommending more efficient configurations, we completed the program two weeks ahead of schedule. This accelerated community recovery and achieved significant cost savings through strategic, responsive solutions.

THE CHALLENGE

After severe flooding across the Mid North Coast, the NSW Department of Primary Industries (DPI) urgently required bulk waste removal to restore access roads and community infrastructure. Existing contractors could not provide the capacity needed. Complicating matters, local facilities were constrained and unable to accept certain truck configurations, requiring alternative disposal solutions to avoid bottlenecks.

OUR SOLUTION

Aus Civil and Safety Barriers mobilised within two days, deploying high-capacity hook lift bins and haulage units. Recognising inefficiencies with the requested truck-and-dog configuration, we recommended and supplied larger cube-capacity trailers, significantly increasing throughput at no additional cost. When one disposal facility refused further loads, our team immediately secured an alternate site, negotiating more cost-effective rates and ensuring continuity of operations.

THE RESULTS

The recovery program was completed two weeks ahead of schedule, accelerating the reopening of critical infrastructure and reducing costs for DPI. Our adaptability, transparent pricing and ability to solve problems in real time delivered significant savings and community benefits. The project reinforced our reputation as an emergency-ready contractor capable of mobilising quickly, thinking strategically and delivering under pressure.
